The CD duplication process, also known as molding or pressing is the traditional and original process of manufacturing DVD's and CD's. The molding machine is used fro the process whereby raw materials are entered into a large CD/DVD molding machine for the creation of the same. The audio or data information is physically fixed on the CD/DVD by the use of stampers that are made from Glass Master and one that is created from the source master.

The end products from the machine are the normal discs such as the audio discs that are common in the market and in music stores that usually have the silvery look. The silver tone is made from aluminum that is used for reflecting the laser, which is commonly used when one is playing a CD or a DVD. The replication machine is basically meant for higher quantities or in cases where it is important to get disc prices below a dollar in order to achieve the bottom lines.

The CD/DVD replication machine extracts data from the original disc much the same way as it is in DVD duplication. There is actually no difference between a glass mastered replication disc and a processed duplication. The only difference that is wrought by the replication process is that CD/DVD replication is a process that duplicates a disc by molding the disk in such a way that one gets an original master. The replication machine cannot add data or change the content at any time. A replicated disc is quality controlled and the process is only meant to achieve the bottom lines in terms of quantity and returns.

The stampers in the replication machine are meant to act as a blueprint fro the entire replication process. What happens is that they are mounted on the injection-mold machine for the creation of a replica which is created in the form of a 120mm plastic disc. Because of how the replication process is complicated large runs are usually recommended for the machine in quantities of around 1000 copies.

There are companies that have developed independent CD/DVD replication machines for high definition DVD replication. The machines have been designed in a way that they admirably satisfy replication needs and at the same time avoid the setbacks that often come along with ordinary modified machines. The machines are also well suited for the replication of both single and double layered DVDs that also come in high definition. High definition DVDS have seen a huge demand in the recent times are therefore these machines will definitely be a marvelous fit for making lucrative business for many manufacturers.

As a result of how CD/DVD replication has become so popular, many companies are using machines that are able to incorporate cutting edge technology so that the quality of DVDS is not compromised. Most of these companies also offer services to their customers that include DVD replication, cover entrapments, disc labels, cases, color off set prints and many other benefits. It is however, for one to be lucidly sure of the process they are interested in, whether it is duplication or replication.
